Shytoshi Kusama Locks Shibarium Channel; Something Big Is Coming?

On Tuesday, Shytoshi Kusama, lead developer of Shiba Inu, spread the word on the Shibarium Telegram channel about the Layer-2 solution being ready. But now, he has locked the channel stating that the group would be reopened after all documents were released. Before the release of the beta, the lead SHIB developer will only post official messages.

Why Shytoshi Kusama Locked Shibarium’s Telegram?

One of the prominent Shiba Influencers on Twitter, @ShibArmy_4Life, shared a screenshot where Shytoshi Kusama mentioned locking the Telegram channel from further messaging until all documents are out. This step was possibly taken after the channel was bombarded with queries regarding the launch. All this might have gotten to the extent where it became difficult to manage.

Though many people believe that the papers for Shibarium will be out very soon, the SHIB team is yet to give a launch date for the upcoming layer-2. Nonetheless, the launch has had numerous delays so far and if rumors are anything to go by, Shibarium will be out before May.

SHIB is BURNING!

According to the data shared by Shiba Archives, 50 million SHIB has been burned in the last 12 hours. Even after soaring more than 50% since the beginning of 2023, Shiba Inu’s price has fallen by 4.25% over the past 24 hours. This drop is the result of a massive slump in the burn rate which is pegged at 91.28% at the time of writing, per data from Shibburn.com.

Shiba Inu Among the top 10 most purchased tokens

According to the WhaleStats, crypto whale aggregator, Shiba Inu is back in the top 10 purchased tokens among the 500 biggest ETH whales in the last 24hrs. It is also the fourth-largest altcoin holding among Ethereum whales, behind Ethereum (ETH), USD Coin (USDC), and Tether (USDT).

At the time of publishing, the whale holds a staggering 511,326,366,052 SHIB worth about $6,695,437. Shiba Inu has surged immensely in 2023, driven in part by plans to launch Shibarium. SHIB began the year at $.00000814 and at its current price of $0.00001315, the altcoin is up 51%.
