Solana Pay, a payment solution built on the Solana blockchain, has announced its integration with Shopify, one of the world’s enormous e-commerce platforms. The integration authorizes merchants on Shopify to use Solana Pay for seamless payments within their online stores. Initially, the payment option will be in USD Coin (USDC), a stablecoin pegged to the U.S. dollar. However, the protocol is considering adding other cryptocurrencies like Solana’s native token, SOL, and other assets like Bonfida’s token, BONK, in the future. This move develops the reach of Solana Pay and opens up new opportunities for merchants to buy and use cryptocurrencies as payment.
