Societe Generale’s cryptocurrency division, SG Forge, has been granted a license to offer crypto services in France by the country’s financial regulator, Autorité des Marchés Financiers (AMF). The license permits SG Forge to provide services such as buying and selling, exchange, and custody of digital assets. While multiple crypto firms are registered with AMF, SG Forge is the first to acquire a license. The move highlights the increasing mainstream acceptance of cryptocurrencies and the growing number of traditional financial institutions entering the crypto space.
