Nathaniel Chastain, the man at the center of a high-profile insider-trading case, has withdrawn his application for bail pending appeal. His lawyers filed a letter with a New York District Court on September 6, informing the judge of Chastain’s decision. Chastain was sentenced to two years in prison in July after pleading guilty to insider trading charges. His bail application had been pending since then. It is unclear why he decided to withdraw his application. Chastain has been ordered to surrender to authorities on October 4 to begin serving his sentence.
