Hollywood is drawn to stories that have drama at their core. That’s why you saw a number of films, TV shows, and documentaries on the spectacular fall of Theranos and the scandal that ensued.
Now, it’s time for a crypto exchange‘s story (and all the drama that ensued) to be told on the silver screen. Yes, you guessed it right. A number of films, TV shows, and documentaries are in production that will tell the story of FTX‘s debacle.
Let’s look at some of high-profile projects who have the highest chances of going mainstream:
1. Adaptation of Michael Lewis’s Upcoming Book
The renowned author of books such as “The Big Short,” “Moneyball,” and “Flash Boys” is writing a book on the SBF and FTX-Alameda Debacle.
According to a letter circulated by his agency, CAA, Lewis spent six months “travelling with and interviewing Sam Bankman-Fried.” He even visited the disgraced FTX CEO after his arrest and interviewed him for “several hours” in January 2023.
According to a report in The Hollywood Reporter, Lewis has been pitching his book’s film and television rights to producers and studio executives.
As per reports, a number of production companies, including Apple, Netflix, and Amazon Studios, as well as producers like David Heyman, have expressed interest in the project.
2. Amazon Prime’s FTX Series
Amazon Studios has commissioned a miniseries on FTX’s downfall and has roped in Joe and Anthony Russo, the filmmaker duo best known for directing Marvel’s last two “Avengers” movies.
The Russo brothers will produce the eight-episode series through their production venture, ABGO, according to Variety.
