Over 200,000 people have been scammed through Facebook ads promoting fake crypto businesses and fake government agencies, according to the Ministry of Digital Economy and Society (MDES). The ads were found to be luring victims into investing in fake ventures and scams claiming high returns. Some of the scams even posed as the Securities and Exchange Commission. The MDES has warned the public to be cautious when investing in digital assets and to verify the legitimacy of any claims before committing to any deals.
