The US DOJ has made a move to disallow all seven expert witnesses for Sam Bankman-Fried (SBF) from testifying in court. The motion was filed on August 28, raising uncertainty over the case, which sees Bankman-Fried’s crypto exchange, FTX, facing a lawsuit involving multiple charges such as market manipulation, fraud, and wash trading. The DOJ argues that the witnesses’ evidence is not reliable or relevant, and some of them display bias and lack appropriate academic credentials. The case is now awaiting a decision from the judge.
